Gibbons Attorney Kelly Ann Bird to Speak at Upcoming NJBIA Employment Seminar
Keeping track of all of the state and federal family and medical leave laws, paid family leave laws, and workers’ compensation and disability laws is difficult for any business owner or HR professional. Properly determining leave eligibility and ensuring that leave is not abused is even harder and generates the most mistakes and lawsuits.
Kelly Ann Bird, a Director in the Gibbons Employment & Labor Law Department, will speak at the upcoming NJBIA Employment Seminar, “Complying with State & Federal Family & Disability Leave,” on Wednesday, November 13, at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, NJ. Ms. Bird’s panel will provide attendees with a roadmap to navigate through the complex and often frustrating maze of laws governing employee leave in New Jersey.
The panelists will tap into their own practical experience to aid in the understanding and proper implementation of the brand new leave law that applies to companies with 25 or more employees and protects victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Attendees will receive in-depth guidance on how to comply with no less than six overlapping and sometimes conflicting federal and state laws. Relevant case studies and practical examples will be discussed.
